The company BobInno developed an innovative principle to reduce the forces on the knee while working on the ground, using a knee protector. The knee protector, called the Ultraknee has proven to reduce the pressure during ground work accoriding to research done by the Haagse Hogeschool.
After the proof of principle Designgoed and DIDID worked together on the design of the Ultraknee. Within the design process the focus was on determining the target group, the vision of the product and the combination visualised in a new product. Besides the visualisations several prototypes have been made to have better feeling for the product and to perform test with a fully functioning prototype.
Within the prototyping phase the production method was a central point of attention.
